My name is Christine Sheldon and I’m a Research Fellow at the Centre for AI in Government and the Institute for Data and AI, both at the University of Birmingham. My research focuses on modelling political negotiations and deliberation using machine learning and generative AI, particularly through text-as-data methods and large language model based multi-agent simulations. I study how decisions unfold within democratic institutions, with the aim of advancing computational tools for understanding governance and improving public decision making.
